How to use Business Name Generator

  1. Enter a "Primary Keyword / Concept" such as cloud; only letters and digits are kept, and leaving it empty makes the tool draw from built-in industry roots.
  2. Choose an "Industry / Niche" (nine options from Technology & SaaS to General & Multi-Purpose); it selects the prefix and suffix lists behind the Compound style.
  3. Pick a "Naming Style": Modern & Invented, Compound Word, Evocative & Abstract, Short & Punchy or Classic & Corporate.
  4. Trim the pool with "Length / Syllables" (Short is up to 8 characters, Medium is 9 to 14), set "Quantity" from 4 to 40, and list rejected candidates in "Exclude words".
  5. Press "Generate Business Names", then use the .com, .io or TM links on a card, "Copy All Names" or "Download TXT".

Worked example

Keyword "cloud", Industry "Technology & SaaS", style "Compound Word", Length "Any length", Quantity 6. Each result is Cloud plus a capitalized suffix from the tech list, for example CloudFlow, CloudForge, CloudSync, CloudLabs or CloudHub. Switch the style to "Classic & Corporate" and the same keyword returns names like Cloud Partners or Cloud Group.

When to use this tool

  • Shortlisting product names for a side project before checking domains.
  • Seeing how one keyword reads under coined, compound and corporate treatments.
  • Filling a naming-workshop board with quick starting points to react against.

Important limitations

Combines linguistic roots, affixes, and industry conventions client-side. Commercial trademark rights and domain registration availability require separate legal clearance through USPTO or registrar databases.

Frequently asked questions

Which styles actually use my keyword and industry?

Compound uses both. Classic & Corporate uses only the keyword, adding endings like Partners or Holdings. Modern & Invented takes the first four letters of the keyword. Evocative & Abstract and Short & Punchy ignore both fields.

Why did I get fewer names than the Quantity?

Each style has a limited pool. With a keyword, Invented can form only ten names because it pairs four letters with ten endings. The tool gives up after 400 draws and shows what it found, so switch style for more.

What do the .com and .io links do?

They open a whois lookup in a new tab for the name with spaces and punctuation removed. A registered result means the domain is taken. The TM link only opens the USPTO search page and does not carry the name across.

Does "Exclude words" remove any name containing a word?

No, it matches whole candidates only, lowercased. Excluding "flow" will not remove CloudFlow. To block that specific name, type cloudflow. Entries are separated by commas.

Can I trust these names as legally usable brands?

No. They are stitched from short lists, so many will resemble existing companies. Trademark and domain checks are separate steps to finish before you print, register or buy anything.
