How to use Internal Link Analyzer
- Enter your domain in "Site Origin / Base URL", including the protocol; it decides which addresses count as internal.
- Paste the markup containing your anchors into "Paste HTML Source Code", or press "Load Sample HTML" to try a navigation block.
- Press "Analyze Links" and read the counters Total Links, Internal Links, External Links and Weak Anchors.
- Scan the table of Target URL, Anchor Text, Type and Rel; rows with an empty or generic anchor are marked as weak.
- Press "Export Inventory (CSV)" to download links-inventory.csv for a spreadsheet audit.
Worked example
Set the origin to https://example.com and paste three anchors: /pricing labelled Pricing, https://other.org/docs labelled Click here, and #top labelled Top. Total Links shows 3, Internal 1, External 1 and Weak Anchors 1. The table lists https://example.com/pricing as Internal, the other.org address as External with a weak flag, and the last row as Anchor / Jump.
When to use this tool
- Auditing a footer or navigation block for vague link text.
- Counting outbound links in an article before publishing.
- Exporting every link on a landing page to hand to an editor.
Important limitations
Parses static HTML anchor elements. Links generated via programmatic JavaScript event listeners (e.g. window.location or button onclick handlers) without standard href attributes cannot be detected.
Frequently asked questions
How is a link classed as internal?
A relative path or an absolute URL with the same hostname as your base origin counts as internal. Fragment links are labelled Anchor / Jump, mailto and tel links Contact, and everything else External.
Is a subdomain treated as internal?
No. Hostnames are compared exactly, so www.example.com and example.com differ, as do blog.example.com and the main site. Set the origin to match the form your links actually use.
What is a weak anchor?
An empty anchor, or one whose text is exactly click here, read more, link, here, more or view. Longer phrases that are still vague, such as this page, are not detected.
Does it show which links are nofollow?
The Rel column prints the raw rel attribute value or none, but there is no separate nofollow count and no check of link destinations. It analyzes only the markup you paste.
Can it crawl my site?
The single-page mode only reads the markup you paste, with no network fetch. A separate Multi-Page Link Graph mode can find orphan pages and click depth by parsing many local HTML files you select yourself (nothing is uploaded); an optional bounded check can also verify up to 15 live link statuses per run.
