How to use OG Image Generator
- Choose a "Visual Theme / Gradient" from eight options such as Midnight Slate, Ocean Breeze, Cyberpunk Neon or Royal Gold.
- Write the "Card Headline / Title" (drawn over up to three lines) and the "Subtitle / Short Description" (up to two lines).
- Fill "Author Name", "Site / Domain Badge" and "Category / Pill Tag", and optionally choose an image under "Author Avatar / Logo (Optional)".
- Watch the 1200 by 630 canvas preview redraw after each change, or load "Load Sample" for a ready-made design.
- Press "Download 1200x630 PNG" for the image and "Copy Meta Tags" for a starter block of og and twitter tags.
Worked example
Set the theme to Sunset Glow, the title to 10 Ways to Speed Up Your Site, the author to Sarah Jenkins, the domain badge to toolkitpoint.com and the tag to PERFORMANCE. With no avatar uploaded, the card shows the headline in large white text, an SJ circle beside the author name, the badge in the corner and the tag as a pill. The download is a 1200 by 630 PNG.

Important limitations
Social preview cards are rendered in browser memory using HTML5 Canvas. Ensure uploaded custom images or logos are under 10 MB to maintain smooth real-time canvas rendering.

Frequently asked questions
What happens to long titles?
The headline wraps to at most three lines and the subtitle to two. Text beyond that is cut and ends with three dots on the last line, so shorten wording that gets clipped rather than relying on it.
What if I do not add an avatar?
The author's initials, taken from the first letters of up to two words in the name, are drawn in a circle instead. Sarah Jenkins therefore shows SJ.
Can I use my own fonts or background photo?
No. The design uses system fonts and the eight preset gradients only. Only the small avatar or logo can be uploaded, and it is read locally, not sent to a server.
Are the copied meta tags ready to publish?
Treat them as a starting point. The image line assumes your domain badge plus /og-image.png, the page URL is your domain root, and quotes in your text are not escaped. Correct the paths and quotes before use.
Is 1200 by 630 the right size?
It is the common 1.91 to 1 size that most social platforms accept for large link cards. Individual platforms may crop differently or cache the older image.
