How to use Zalgo & Glitch Text Generator
- Type in "Text to Curse with Zalgo".
- Press a preset: "Subtle Glitch", "Cursed / Spooky", "Maximum Void Chaos", "Ascending Up" or "Descending Abyss".
- Fine-tune with "Upwards Glitch (Above)" (0 to 15), "Middle Glitch (Overlay)" (0 to 10) and "Downwards Glitch (Below)" (0 to 15).
- Untick "Randomize Intensity per Letter" so each letter receives exactly the slider count; "Dark Cursed Glow Preview" only recolours the output box.
- Copy with "Copy Zalgo Text" or "Download .txt"; to undo, switch "Mode" to "Un-Zalgo / Glitch Cleaner" and press "Strip All Glitch Diacritics".
Worked example
Enter "Hi", set the sliders to 4, 2 and 4 and untick Randomize. Every letter receives exactly 10 marks, so the counter reads "22 characters (expanded from 2)" while the marks themselves are chosen at random. Pasting the result into the cleaner returns plain "Hi".

Important limitations
Stretching diacritical marks too high can cause visual overlap on tight web layouts or trigger automated spam detection on some social platforms. Use the built-in intensity limiter for safe posting.

Frequently asked questions
What are the extra marks?
They are combining diacritics from the U+0300 range, picked at random and stacked above, through or below each letter. The output is ordinary Unicode text that any field accepting such characters can hold.
Why does long text get cut short?
Generation stops once the result passes about 8,000 characters. Maximum Void Chaos adds up to 25 marks per letter, so a long paragraph is truncated. Lower the sliders or shorten the input.
Do the marks re-roll when I move a slider?
In the main generator, yes: every slider move or preset click draws new random marks. The reproducible section below uses a seed instead, so the same text, seed and settings always give the same result, and its share link recreates that exact output.
Does the cleaner remove ordinary accents too?
Yes. It normalises to decomposed form and removes all combining marks, so "café" becomes "cafe". Use it on glitch text, not on words whose accents matter.
Is Zalgo text safe for names or accessibility?
Not really. Screen readers may read each mark or produce gibberish, and many sites strip or limit combining marks. Avoid it for anything readers must understand.
How do I keep zalgo text within a platform limit?
Pick a platform in "Fit a platform limit" and the tool lowers the marks per letter until the output fits, counting every mark as one character. The cap setting limits marks above and below each letter so they do not run into the next line, and a chat-bubble preview shows the result in this browser.
