How to use Barcode Generator
- Enter the data in "Barcode value or text" and choose "Symbology / Format": Code 128 (with Sets A, B and C), EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, Code 39, ITF-14, MSI Plessey, Pharmacode or Codabar.
- Set "Bar height (px)" (30 to 300), "Bar width / scale" (1 to 4 px) and whether "Display human-readable text" is shown.
- Type "Bar color" and "Background color" as hex text; they default to #000000 and #ffffff and are not color pickers.
- Press "Sample: UPC-A", "Sample: EAN-13", "Sample: Code 128" or "Sample: Code 39" to load a working value and generate at once.
- Press "Generate barcode", then use "Download PNG", "Download SVG", "Print / Save PDF" or "Copy SVG".
Worked example
Format "EAN-13", value 590123412345 (12 digits), height 100. The tool appends the check digit 7 and shows 5901234123457 beneath the bars. Downloads are named 590123412345-EAN13.png and 590123412345-EAN13.svg, and typing a wrong 13th digit instead would produce an "Invalid data or checksum" message.
When to use this tool

Important limitations
Each symbology has strict character and check-digit rules. A barcode that renders is not proof that a product identifier is registered or that printing size, quiet zones, and contrast meet retail standards.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to type the check digit?
Not for EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A or ITF-14: give 12, 7, 11 or 13 digits and the library appends it. If you supply the full length, it must be correct or the tool reports "Invalid data or checksum".
Which characters does each format accept?
Code 128 Set C needs an even count of digits, Code 39 takes capitals, digits and - . space $ / + %, Pharmacode takes a whole number from 3 to 131070, and Codabar wants A to D start and stop letters around digits.
Does a scannable barcode prove a real product code?
No. Retail EAN and UPC numbers come from GS1 registration. This tool encodes whatever valid digits you type, and retailers also set size, quiet-zone and contrast requirements.
Does the page contact an outside server?
The barcode library is served from this site's own vendor folder. Only if that copy fails to load does the page try a public CDN copy, which would contact that external host.
Should I print the PNG or the SVG?
SVG scales without blur. The PNG is rendered at the bar width you chose, so at 1 px it prints soft. Use width 3 or 4 for print and test scan the result.
