What does the movement rate tell me?
It counts pointer-move events per second, including coalesced events. It gives a rough idea of polling rate, but browsers and screens cap what a web page sees, so a 1000 Hz gaming mouse may show a lower figure here.
Why doesn't my side button register?
Some mice send side buttons as keyboard shortcuts through their own software. If the vendor app remaps them, the browser never sees buttons 3 and 4; switch the button back to its default in that app.
The wheel scrolls the wrong way. Is my mouse broken?
Probably not. Natural scrolling or reversed wheel settings in the operating system change the direction. The tester shows the direction the browser receives, which already includes those settings.
Does it work on a laptop touchpad?
Yes for clicks, two-finger scrolling and movement. Middle-click and side buttons depend on the touchpad driver and are often not available.
