How to use Audio Cutter & Ringtone Maker
- Press "Choose Audio File", "Load Demo Audio" or "Record Microphone", then use the 1×, 2×, 4× or 8× zoom buttons to inspect the waveform.
- Drag the blue start and end markers on the waveform, click to move the nearest one, type exact times, or focus the waveform and use S/E and the arrow keys (Shift = 1 s, Alt = 1 ms).
- Choose "Keep Selection" to save only the marked part, or "Remove Selection" to cut it out and join the two sides with a crossfade whose length you set.
- Set the fades, an optional loop-safe crossfade, gain or peak normalising, then pick WAV, MP3, M4A, M4R (iPhone ringtone), OGG, FLAC or a lossless copy in the original format.

Worked example
Load a 180-second song, choose Remove Selection, set Start to 60 and End to 90 with a 0.05-second splice crossfade. The result joins 0-60 s with 90-180 s and is 150 seconds long. Or keep 30-45 s, pick M4R, and download a 15-second iPhone ringtone.

Important limitations
Cutting is sample-accurate on the decoded audio held in memory (roughly 250 MB per file). Exports are WAV, MP3, M4A/M4R, OGG or FLAC, encoded on your computer with FFmpeg; the first non-WAV export downloads about 32 MB of engine code once.

Frequently asked questions
Do fades apply when I remove a section?
Yes. Fade-In and Fade-Out shape the start and end of the result, and the two sides of the gap are joined with an equal-power crossfade whose length is the "Splice crossfade" box (0.05 s by default; 0 gives a hard join).
How do I make an iPhone ringtone?
Choose M4R, keep the selection at 40 seconds or less (the page warns above that), optionally add a loop-safe crossfade, and download the .m4r. Copy it to your iPhone through Finder or Apple Music, then select it under Sounds and Haptics. Apple ignores tones longer than 40 seconds.
What does the loop-safe crossfade do?
It blends the last part of the clip into its first part and shortens the clip by that amount, so the end flows straight into the beginning when the tone repeats.
What is lossless copy?
It cuts the original file's compressed audio without re-encoding, so quality is unchanged and it is quick. Cut points snap to frame boundaries (about 26 ms for MP3), and fades, gain and loop options are not applied because they need re-encoding. It needs a file chosen from disk.
Does the bitrate menu always apply?
No. It applies to MP3, M4A/M4R and OGG. For WAV and FLAC, which are lossless, the menu is disabled and a note explains why.
How does auto-split by silence work?
It measures loudness in 10 ms steps, treats anything under your dBFS threshold as silence, and lists the sounds between silences that last at least your minimum. You can remove clips before downloading a ZIP.
