How to use Video to GIF Converter & GIF Maker

- Set "Duration in seconds" (0.2 to 20, default 5); longer runs make much heavier files.
- Choose "Output width" from 120 to 1280 pixels (default 480); height follows automatically.

Worked example
Load demo.mp4, set Start to 3.5, Duration to 4 and Output width to 480, then press "Process file". At the fixed 10 fps the converter renders 4 × 10 = 40 frames beginning at 3.5 seconds. Height is computed to match a 16:9 source (480 × 270). The download is animation.gif, silent and looping.

Frequently asked questions
What frame rate does the output use?
It is fixed at 10 frames per second, so fast motion looks choppier than the original. The setting cannot be changed on this page, and the animation loops forever.
Why is the exported file so large?
The format stores each frame as a paletted image without modern inter-frame video compression. The converter builds a 256-colour palette from the clip, but width and duration still drive the size, so lower both first.
Is audio included?
No. The format cannot carry sound, so the output is silent. Use the Video Trimmer if you want a short clip with its audio preserved instead of a looping animation.
Why is the 20-second limit there?
Duration is capped to keep memory use manageable inside the browser. A ten-second loop at 480 px width is already a heavy file for chat apps.
Will colours look the same as the video?
Not exactly. Each frame allows only 256 colours, so gradients can show banding. The converter creates a custom palette per clip, which helps, but photographic scenes still look grainier.
