QR Code Generator
Create a downloadable QR code for text or a URL. Your work stays on this device whenever possible.
How to use QR Code Generator
- Choose "Data format": Website URL or Plain Text, Wi-Fi Network, Contact Card (vCard), Email message or SMS message; the fields below change to match.
- Fill the matching fields. For Wi-Fi that means "Network name (SSID)", "Password" and "Encryption" (WPA/WPA2/WPA3, WEP or Open).
- Set "Size (px)" (128 to 1024), "Foreground color", "Background color" and "Error correction level" (L 7%, M 15%, Q 25% or H 30%).
- Optionally attach "Optional center logo (PNG or JPEG)"; a red warning appears below the colors when their contrast falls under 3:1.
- Press "Generate QR code", then download qr-code.png or qr-code.svg.
Worked example
Choose "Wi-Fi Network", enter SSID MyHomeWiFi, password correct horse and encryption "WPA/WPA2/WPA3", keep size 360 and level M. The code encodes exactly WIFI:T:WPA;S:MyHomeWiFi;P:correct horse;; and phones that scan it offer to join that network. Download qr-code.png for printing or qr-code.svg for scalable use.
When to use this tool
- Printing a guest Wi-Fi card that lets visitors join without typing a password.
- Putting a contact card on a business card as a vCard code.
- Making a poster link code with a small logo using error correction H.
Important limitations
QR codes follow ISO/IEC 18004 standards. Custom colors must maintain at least 4.5:1 contrast against the background to guarantee camera readability across lighting conditions.

Frequently asked questions
Does the SVG include my logo?
No. The logo is drawn only onto the PNG canvas, at 20 percent of the code's width on a patch of the background color. The SVG is built from the raw module grid with a 4-module margin. Use PNG plus level H when a logo is needed.
Are special characters escaped in Wi-Fi codes?
No. The payload is WIFI:T:type;S:name;P:password;; verbatim, so a semicolon, comma, colon or backslash in the name or password can confuse a phone's parser. Scan a test code before printing.
What does the contrast warning mean?
It compares the luminance of the two colors and warns under 3:1. That is a rough guide, not proof of scannability, and light-on-dark inverted codes are not read by every scanner, so always test.
How much text fits in one code?
Capacity depends on the code version and correction level; higher levels hold less. Very long text can fail to generate, so shorten links before increasing correction.
What do the vCard, email and SMS types produce?
A version 3.0 vCard with name, phone, email and organization (name required), a mailto: link with URL-encoded subject and body, and an SMSTO:number:message string. Fields are inserted without further escaping.
