How to use QR Code Scanner
- Choose a picture that contains a QR code under "QR code image" and press "Scan uploaded image".
- Or press "Use camera", allow camera access, and hold the code steady inside the live view until it is detected.
- Read the decoded content in the result box; the status line warns you when the text looks like a link.
- Press "Copy result" to place the decoded text on the clipboard.
- Press "Stop camera" when finished, since the camera keeps running until the code is found or you stop it.
Worked example
Upload a screenshot of a QR code that stores the text WIFI:S:HomeNet;T:WPA;P:example123;; and press "Scan uploaded image". The result box shows that exact string, and since it does not begin with a URL scheme the status says the code was decoded as text. Nothing is joined or opened, and "Copy result" becomes available.

Important limitations
Blur, glare, perspective, cropping, dense payloads, or damaged finder squares can prevent decoding. A decoded URL is untrusted data and can still be malicious.
Frequently asked questions
Will the scanner open a link for me?
No. Decoded content is only displayed as text and is never opened automatically. Check the address carefully before visiting it, since a QR code can point to a harmful site.
Can it read barcodes too?
No, only QR codes. Product barcodes such as EAN or Code 128 are not supported, and a page holding several QR codes returns just one of them.
Why does it say no readable code was found?
Common causes are blur, glare, a cropped edge, a very small code or a damaged corner marker. Try a sharper, uncropped picture; light-on-dark inverted codes are tried automatically.
Why is the camera button not working?
The browser must grant camera permission and the page must be served securely. If you deny access, the message says so and you can still upload an image instead.
Is there any size reduction before scanning?
Yes. Pictures larger than 1600 pixels on the longest side are scaled down first, which speeds the scan and rarely hurts a normal QR code.
