How to use FAQ Schema Generator
- In "Questions and answers (one pair per line: Question | Answer)" write each item on its own line, separating question and answer with a vertical bar.
- Keep each answer on a single line; a blank line is skipped, but a line missing either side of the bar stops the run with an error message.
- Press "Generate FAQ Schema"; the result panel shows a script tag of type application/ld+json wrapping the FAQPage object.
- Use "Copy JSON-LD" to paste it into your page head, or "Download JSON" to keep a file copy.
- Read the Google rich results note under the buttons before expecting visible FAQ snippets in search.
Worked example
Enter the single line How long is shipping? | Three to five business days. and press Generate FAQ Schema. The output is a script tag containing an object whose @context is https://schema.org and whose @type is FAQPage. Its mainEntity array has one Question named How long is shipping? with an acceptedAnswer of type Answer whose text is Three to five business days.

Important limitations
Per Google Search Central guidelines, FAQ rich snippets in SERPs are predominantly shown for authoritative government and health resources, but valid FAQPage structured data remains valuable for AI search indexation, voice search, and semantic crawlers.
Frequently asked questions
Why is part of my answer missing?
The tool splits every line on the vertical bar and uses only the first two parts. An answer that contains a bar loses everything after it, so replace those characters with a slash or a word before generating.
Can an answer include several paragraphs or links?
Each line is one plain-text answer, so paragraph breaks are not possible and HTML is not added for you. Markup you type stays in the text as literal characters, which structured data validators may reject.
Will FAQ rich results appear in Google?
Google now limits FAQ rich results mostly to well-known government and health sites, as the on-page note explains. The markup can still describe your content, but appearance in results is not guaranteed.
Does it validate the schema for me?
It checks only that each line has a question and an answer, then builds the JSON. It does not run Google's validator, so test the output in an external rich results checker before publishing.
Does the FAQ text need to match the page?
Yes. Search guidelines expect the questions and answers in the markup to be visible on the page itself. Markup describing hidden or invented content can be ignored or lead to a manual action.
