How to use Rotate PDF Pages
- Choose the file under "Choose a PDF"; one "Page n" tile with its own rotation menu appears per page.
- Use "Set all pages" to give every tile the same angle: 0°, 90° Clockwise, 180° Half Turn or 270° Clockwise.
- For selective fixes use "Rotate Odd Pages 90°" or "Rotate Even Pages 90°", or open a single tile's menu and pick 90°, 180° or 270°.
- Press "Reset All to 0°" to undo every choice before running.
- Press "Rotate selected pages" and read the count message, then download rotated.pdf.
Worked example
Load a 4-page scan in which pages 1 and 3 are sideways. Press Rotate Odd Pages 90° so tiles 1 and 3 show 90° while tiles 2 and 4 stay at 0°, then press Rotate selected pages. The result reads Successfully applied rotation to 2 of 4 pages, and rotated.pdf downloads with those two pages turned a quarter turn clockwise.
When to use this tool
- Correcting one landscape page that came out sideways in a portrait document.
- Straightening a two-sided scan where every back page is upside down.
- Turning an entire phone-scanned file 90° so it opens upright.
Important limitations
Rotation updates internal document page matrix properties; it does not deskew crooked scan pixels or modify rasterized image orientation.
Frequently asked questions
Is the rotation added to the page's current orientation?
Yes. The chosen angle is added to any rotation already stored in the page, then reduced to a value under 360. A page that is already turned 90° and gets 90° ends at 180°.
Do the quick buttons add up when pressed twice?
No. Each button sets the tile menus to a fixed value rather than adding to them, so pressing Rotate All 90° twice still gives 90°. To reach 180° use the 180° button or choose it in the menu.
Which pages are Odd and Even?
They follow page numbers as printed in the tiles, so odd means pages 1, 3, 5 and even means 2, 4, 6. This suits two-sided scans where one side comes in upside down.
Does rotating change the page's content?
No. It changes only the view rotation flag, so text, images and links keep their data and are not re-rendered. Some viewers show a rotated page differently if they ignore that flag.
What if I forget to touch any tile?
The tool still saves a copy, and the message says rotation was applied to 0 of N pages. Nothing in the file changes apart from being re-saved.
Can I rotate many files, or only the landscape pages?
Yes. The batch block detects mixed portrait and landscape pages, offers a one-click fix, filters by odd, even, landscape, portrait or range, and can rotate several files into a ZIP. You can set the rotation flag or bake the rotation into the page content for software that ignores the flag.
